Meet Jill

My background

I am a Buffalo native who lived through the Blizzard of ‘77 as a child. My father’s job relocated us to rural Connecticut where I grew up. I attended Springfield College in Massachusetts (Go Pride!) where I was editor of the student newspaper, the literary magazine, and played Division 1 field hockey. Most importantly, I learned how to live the Humanics philosophy of Spirit, Mind and Body. Guess which major sport was invented at SC.

My dream job was to be a journalist. However, my first job was as an entry-level editor at an accounting trade magazine in Manhattan, two hours away. I spent 20 hours a week on a Greyhound bus for nine months. When I mentor young professionals, I tell them that story so they know that they will survive their 30-minute commute.

I was fortunate to obtain a job as a journalist in my Connecticut hometown, fueling my desire to learn, ask questions, see all sides of an issue, and write and edit at a high level. I parlayed my career into public relations and, later, corporate communications after returning to Buffalo in 2002. As my career ascended, I became responsible for advising on strategies to meet business goals and worked with VPs of Marketing, Sales, Operations, Human Resources, and other department heads.

After many years in corporate, I decided to start a business, and today there are three of us — me, myself, and I. I thoroughly enjoy meeting fellow business owners and helping them. They are a crucial part of our local economy, and we are all connected in some way. Shop local.
